What We Do
Rodents and pests can be more than a problem for you, your family and your home. Roof rats, house flies and cockroaches can pose a serious risk. We will work with you to determine what pests are in your home, what will break their life cycle and how to prevent them from coming back. Contact Arizona Lawn today to learn more.
Roof Rats
Roof rats, which have a smaller and sleeker body than a Norway rat, are excellent climbers and tend to be found in upper parts of structures. Roof rats are prodigious breeders and they become sexually mature between two and five months of age. With up to six litters per year, one female allow can produce up to 40 new rodents!
To determine a Roof Rat Infestation, look for the following signs:
- If roof rats are exposed, this often indicates that too many occupy their current hiding space.
- Nests, which tend to be inside buildings, roofs or piles of rubbish or wood
- Roof rat droppings tend to have pointed ends and are ~12-13 mm long (shorter than Norway rat droppings which are ~18-20 mm long)
- Grease marks from the oil in their fur can mark edges or surfaces
- Sounds at night in your attic can be a good indication since roof rats are nocturnal
House Flies
Most of us can quickly associate with the nuisance that a house fly can be. They can also transmit diseases; thus, making it that much more important to get rid of them. We offer several solutions to control house fly infestations. Contact Arizona Lawn to learn more about identifying the fly species and discussing the best method of control for your home.
Cockroaches
Pest cockroaches are not welcome in your home. They can be carriers of various diseases that can be harmful to you and your family. Cockroaches can reproduce quickly. And, if your home is an ideal breeding ground (plenty of food, warmth and water), cockroaches can remain active all year round. They can enter your home through cracks, vents, sewer and drain pipes. Some enter with boxes and bags as we carry them into our homes! They are nocturnal, but some are seen if their hiding place is too full by overcrowding. Scorpions
Scorpions like to live in very dry climates. Arizona provides the perfect climate for their warm and relatively dry habitats. During the day, they find shelter in underground holes or the undersides of rocks. As they mature, scorpions become nocturnal. They typically don’t leave any signs of their presence so only a visual sighting can verify an infestation. There are over 1,200 species of scorpions in the world. One of the most dangerous species is the Arizona bark scorpion. To learn more about controlling scorpions in your yard and home, contact Arizona Lawn for a consultation.
